Holiday Traditions
Thanksgiving, one of my favorite holidays. Why, well technically I think of it as an all night party/buffet.The thing that really makes Thankgiving fun is the partys.Every year we go to my cousins house 6:00 in the morning to get the food made and the decorations set before the party starts,by the way its in Long Island. The party goes approximately to 1:00,then in the morning we have brekfast and we are out of the house.Thanksgiving rocks when you bring it into my family!!!!!!!!!

I decided to vacation in Jamaica this year after being away for a few years. One sunny morning I woke up and took a deep breath. I felt the breeze go through my bedroom window when I hear my dad yell, Rahul get out of the bed we are gonna miss our plane. So I get dressed, grabbed my suitcase, and got out of the house. An hour later we are at the airport waiting. As we were sitting I fell asleep. Next thing I know my plane is there and I’m rushed into the plane by my dad. Finally we were on the plane and off. Where here, where here, where here. I said in an excited voice. My dad woke up, we’re already, yup, I said. We got off the plane, what a beautiful place! At that point we dove right into the fun. I went with my dad and stayed at the Renaissance-Jamaica Grande in Ocho Rios. I had a wonderful time. At the hotel I enjoyed Jamaican cuisine, curry goat. There was a relaxed atmosphere and the service was excellent with one exception. Being an Indian traveling with my dad I experienced something that I did not knowingly experience. In most cases I was served first with a smile and my dad was asked second with less enthusiam. Also, in some cases I was completely ignored. At first I thought I was being too sensitive but a my dad of mine who happened to be staying at the hotel room experienced the same treatment.
I was fortunate enough to go downtown to a club downtown called (oops I can't remember the name of it) it was great. It was more yarded style and they played the latest in reggae songs. I also went to see a play called "Fudgie", it was tooo funny! Of course they played the reggae song, Fudgie.
Other than visiting relatives I think the best time I had was just walking with my dad downtown Ocho Rios and interacting with people. My vacation ended way too soon and I enjoyed every moment of it. I bought a fruit cake which was devoured in a few days. And lastly the restaurants, we actually got to eat Jamaican food which was delicious! That definitely was one of most fun trips I have ever had.
